Johnson Rainbow Library

Dear Parents,

My name is Tamara Smith and, as of last month, I am the new Library Assistant for Johnson Primary. I have a Masters in Music Performance from the U of A and perform as a substitute with the TSO and Tucson Pops Orchestra. I grew up surrounded by books and have a healthy knowledge of classic children’s literature. It is my sincere pleasure to have been invited to be a part of the Johnson family and to get to introduce the vibrant world of reading to your children! It is my goal to help our students discover the life long joy that reading can bring.

Due dates for your children’s books will be one week from the date of checkout. Kindergarten and 1st grade may check out one book at a time. 2nd and 3rd grades may check out 2 books.

If a student has overdue books or previous library fines they may not check out books until the fines are settled and the books returned. If the books with fines are damaged or lost we can accept a new copy of the same book or one of a similar reading level in good condition with a copyright of 2010 or newer, at the discretion of the Library Assistant. Many times the replacement books can be found in excellent condition from Bookman’s or Amazon for a fraction of the cost of a new one.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to drop by and ask me on Monday, Wednesday or Friday. I am usually in the office before and after school.

Warm Regards,

Tamara Smith
